Type - A personality types more prone to burning out at work

Global - Busy go-getters who try to cope with work-family conflict by becoming busier and looking for more resources may actually experience more stress and strain, according to a study published in Journal of Applied Psychology.

After studying 193 people grappling with work, college studies and family duties, researchers found that respondents who tended to lie down to take a nap instead of tackling dilemmas right away actually handled work-family conflict better. This group of people had more energy as well.

According to the research authors Tracy Hecht and Julie McCarthy at the University of Toronto, avoiding problems for the short term or “disengaging from stressful roles temporarily, may actually help” in balancing work-life woes.
