Look Within - Points to Ponder

Points to Ponder

As Singapore relies on its population as its natural resource, youths are our renewable resource, says Associate Professor Ang Swee Hoon, Department of Marketing, NUS Business School. Singapore can continue to scale heights only if everyone contributes to the best of his or her
capacity and ability. To advance to the next lap of development and growth, there needs to be a heightened sense of belonging, participation and ownership.

Although there are no concrete strategies to curb this human capital flight at the moment, the employers and government of Singapore have begun to show indications by adopting Gen-Y friendly practices and rolling out pro-active, enlightened, supportive and employee-centric human resource initiatives that would motivate young Singaporeans to stay back. While the rest of the world is looking at your nation as an exemplary success story, it is time to look within, review the possibilities of your professional designs and make a contribution to your home country.
