The Real World - StarHub Story: Managing Graduates
HR also realises that young graduates are competitive and like to compare themselves among their peers. One of the challenges that many organisations like StarHub face, is retaining young graduates. To elevate job satisfaction, StarHub has therefore implemented job rotation at appropriate intervals to expose employees to different functions and roles, and HR accords them due recognition when they perform well.
“We also have in place a structured learning programme whereby orientation courses and workshops are arranged for new recruits to familiarise
them with the business and work culture of the organisation. We have had a number of success stories of employees who joined StarHub after their graduation. These employees were given the opportunities to prove themselves and were recognised for their contributions. They have since stayed to forge their career at StarHub,” says Chan Hoi San, Head-HR, Starhub.
