Reporting directly to the APAC Head of Business Development, this is a fantastic opportunity for a proven cross-functional leader to shape and drive the overall business development strategy around ideating, incubating, innovating, and institutionalizing our approach and practice to broaden the use of the entire AWS Platform in APAC. This can entail working with external partners to create an ecosystem around innovation, and also identifying and developing strategic platform partnerships to help AWS enter into emerging and growing APAC markets.

You will be a key member of the APAC business development leadership team, and you will own the overall business development strategy for AWS in APAC. This will require close collaboration with the APAC leadership team, as well as with the AWS Service Teams, Field Enablement Teams, and the Global Platform Business Development Team. Close partnership with leaders and organizations outside of your immediate team will be necessary as you will build an overall structured approach and experience for business development. Other than shaping and delivering on a strategy to build the mindshare and broaden the use of AWS, you will lead a team of very talented and experienced business development managers, and guide them to 1) define key market segments and the GTM strategy for each stage of the AWS service adoption lifecycle, 2) drive the necessary business and technical relationships with customers and partners to establish AWS presence in those markets, to 3) enable the account teams to drive the day-to-day interactions with prospects in order to build long-term business opportunities, 4) establish the necessary field mechanisms that help accelerate the AWS innovation flywheel.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interaction at the CxO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects. He/she should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. The successful candidate will be a technologist with an inherent curiosity and a passion for building high performing teams. The candidate should also have a passion to lead, manage, and mentor other leaders. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness to get things done is a must.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Set a strategic business development plan for the APAC market and ensure it is in line with the AWS strategic direction.
Lead and manage the APAC GTM Business Development team
Lead and enable the APAC GTM Business Development team to drive new market development efforts by working with leaders across partner, service, product development and sales teams.
Work with the other BD Leaders to define and help execute on broader market development strategies.
Develop, in partnership with the Global Platform Business Development teams, strategic priorities and long-term plans for the organization.
Develop strong, productive relationships across peer organization that further our business objectives.
Define goals processes and drive monthly updates against those goals.
Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key customers.
Own and deliver business reviews to the APAC and Global business development teams regarding the overall business development strategy execution.
Basic Qualifications

15+ years of experience working for Enterprise IT companies, technology consulting firms, management or strategy consulting firms.
Global experience, proven people management and experience leading diverse teams.
Demonstrated competency in the areas of group collaboration, analytical thinking and strategy.
Experience working with senior stakeholders and executive teams.
Manage complex projects and programs while demonstrating exceptional business judgement.
Possess some relevant technical knowledge, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, content delivery networks (CDNs) etc.
Preferred Qualifications

MBA or equivalent relevant business experience.
Experience working within the technology industry is highly desired.
Experience working with C-Level Executives including written, presentation and verbal communications.
Solid negotiation skills, and business and financial acumen.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
