Our leadership team seeks a highly experienced Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, to be based in Singapore. The MD will develop the go-to-market strategy and build relationships throughout the region with a focus on expanding our data, intelligence and events businesses, with a scope that includes everything from identifying and focusing sales and marketing resources to planning product launches and seeking acquisition opportunities.
Engage all current partners in the region, evaluate their potential contribution to short- and long-term growth and build the appropriate relationships.
Seek out new partners and customers who can expand our regional business.
Become an expert at all of our product lines in terms of how they provide value to customers and sales rationales. Evaluate viability of each product line in the region and recommend modifications or extensions accordingly.
Develop a growth strategy and business plan, based on focusing and growing our existing business and products in the region and developing new products and launches.
Drive overall intelligence/data growth supporting the regional content sales team with training, expertise and marketing support.
Drive overall event revenue growth supporting global event-sales team with training, expertise and marketing support.
Manage our media/events partner in China and find new ways to maximize growth in that country.
Organize complex multi-channel, multi-department initiatives (i.e., Singapore Air Show) to maximize coordination, optimize resources and drive results.
Pursue brand-building activities throughout the region.
8 or more years of data-content development and subscription sales experience, preferably related to aviation or technology.
Event, tradeshow and media experience.
Intimate knowledge of business dynamics across Asia and in individual countries and cultural sensitivity to build relationships and business success. 5+ years experience living/working in the region preferred.
Technical and complex business development experience involving a moderate degree of modification and adaptation of products, equipment, practices and procedures.
Highly complex work performed within general policies and objectives requiring a substantial amount of original thinking.
This position requires a high degree of collaboration with other departments within Aviation Week and Informa – locally and globally.
Continuous and open communications and presentation skills.
Ability to gain respect of data and editorial teams from a content-quality standpoint, external and internal writers, designers and digital resources.
4 yr. college degree.
Leadership skills, all forms of communications, hands on digital, digital management experience, sales management, sales.
Travel @ 40-50%
