UL is seeking an energetic self-starter with strong communication skills to take a lead role in developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of the regulatory, technical and certification process requirements for ASEAN market access in support of Appliances, HVAC and Lighting (AHL) division’s business growth.
Under general supervision, independently manages execution and timely completion of basic engineering projects by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications upon various GMA programs especially for AHL(Appliance, HVAC and Lighting) industry. Assist in the development of GMA program requirements particularly for ASEAN region approvals, Project management, Regulatory and Knowledge management, and related activities. May exercises as GMA Project Handler of record responsible for opening, maintenance, completion, and closing of assigned projects. Exercise as GMA Reviewer of record responsible for required review of assigned projects.
Act as regional key expert contact for compliance requirements required to access ASEAN market and countries
Develop contacts and relationships with the appropriate regulatory authorities in ASEAN countries
Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of key regulations at the ASEAN regional level as well as for individual member countries
Work with GMA Director and regional program leads to develop and implement global market access (GMA) services
Provide point of access support to address any local acceptance issues
Determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction per applicable GMA programs
Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. Follows up on contacts from clients. Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain GMA procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. Provides program and technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspections
Coordinates GMA activities by preparing required packages to internal and external counterparts, scheduling and reviewing work GMA support staff, and establishing completion dates. Coordinates administrative aspects of project management
Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports
Assist in the development of GMA requirements.
Coordinate and/or perform GMA package Reviews, as directed. May represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows.
Performs other duties as directed.
University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology with minimum 3 years of directly related experience is a must
Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline
Basic knowledge of the regulatory, technical and certification process requirements for ASEAN market and techniques common to the appropriate discipline
