Job Description:
This role reports directly to the Global VP, Buzz & Brand in Corporate HQ to ensure the regional strategic communication plans are aligned to global objectives. This role will have regular engagement with the Heads of Marketing in each market as well as PR agencies as appropriate.
The other key stakeholders are senior executives across APAC, Senior Director of Theatre Marketing and the corporate communications team located in both the US and UK.
Role Requirements:
Lead overall corporate communications planning for the APAC region in partnership with corporate and individual markets
Position Polycom's vision, products and people as industry leaders and innovators across APAC
Work with key internal stakeholders, described above, to understand business and marketing imperatives to align the region’s communications objectives. This will include managing external corporate communications and some internal communications across APAC.
Align and execute the PR plans as part of integrated campaigns with the objective of ultimately positively advancing the Polycom brand and business
Lead and measure success of pan-APAC or individual market communications efforts with PR agencies
Some content development such as press releases, social media posits, press pitches, executive profiles and contributed content
Work with company spokespeople (including customers) to prepare them for public speaking engagements, media interviews, including social media training etc
Build and maintain key relationships with press and influencers across Asia Pacific
Deep understanding of corporate communication strategies from a global and local perspective
Grow Polycom's social media effectiveness, building internal social advocates, and integrating with marketing demand generation campaigns
Liaison and reporting to Corporate on behalf of APAC, including execution of global communications and campaigns
Core competencies required for achievement of the above
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
A self-starter; able to analyse the marketplace and develop localised strategies that complement those of regional and corporate teams
Results and action orientated
Strong project management and organization skills with experience leading projects and collaborating at all levels of the organization and across geographies, you are known for demonstrating a rigorous attention to detail, with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude
Experience building positive media and some analyst relations
Must have knowledge of PR landscape and relationships with key influencers in APAC tech environment
You will have solid proven experience with Social Media and Analyst relations (over 2yrs)
You will have excellent skills in writing creative pitches, press releases, and internal communications that are engaging and highly persuasive
High level understanding of the organization strategy (vision and objective) and the role of communications within the marketing mix
Outstanding interpersonal skills and team acumen to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
An ability to work well with senior company executives
A flexible individual, with ability to react quickly to changing circumstances and deal with ambiguity to build creative solutions

Product promotion and visibility as an innovative leader
Strategic use of social media channels for brand and business
Lead localization of messaging, programs and execution of global communications campaigns
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Mass Communications/ Marketing Degree
7-10 years in public relations, a proven track record working for major IT vendors in-house or from PR agency working for tech clients
Have managed agencies across APAC and staff from various APAC cultures, backgrounds and language skills
Experience in running PR campaigns across APAC
Experience crafting and delivering communications working closely with senior executives
Experience in managing multiple agencies
Good in juggling multiple-projects concurrently under fast paced environment
Excellent command of English (speak, read and written) with samples of writing to show
Journalism/PR Agency experience a plus
Ability to speak Mandarin or other Asian language a bonus, but not essential
