Reporting to the Manager of International Sales, the Sales Account Manager (Asia Pacific region) will be an intricate part of the commercial management team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering new sales opportunities for Sensient Natural Ingredients (SNI). You will also manage business with existing industrial food accounts throughout the assigned territory and you will be accountable for the development and execution of sales plans, annual goals and initiatives in support of the Division's strategy and objectives.
The Sales Account Manager will be based out of the Singapore office and must be located within this territory. Extensive travel will be required for on-site customer interaction to engage and partner with key customer decision makers, including client’s Research & Development teams, to develop and deliver ingredient solutions. Travel to the divisional headquarters in Turlock CA, as well as to SNI operations in Europe and Qingdao, China may be required occasionally. Attendance at trade shows and other related events that will promote SNI’s product line in the territory is also required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the sales efforts within the territory and market; recommend and implement a consultative value-added sales approach that will improve margins and volumes.
Work cross functionally with Sensient’s Technical Service, R&D, Marketing, Customer Service and Operations to reach sales goals.
Significant interaction with other key executives in the organization
Analysis of internal and external data with regard to sales, cost, markets, new business development and customers.
Gather and filter competitive intelligence to the advantage of the company and deliver accurate sales forecasts on a periodic basis and establish/ manage financials for their business.
Collaborate as appropriate with the overlapping Account managers in Sensient Asia/Pacific to ensure a consistent and complete customer strategy and product offerings.
With and through sales staff, develop sales plans, contracts and forecasts in support of the company’s strategies and objectives.
Direct the implementation of sales policies and practices.
Promote and improve customer service and communication with customers.
Work with product development staff to further identify customer needs and new product opportunities.
Actively promote New Products through direct sales, presentations and product demonstrations.
Pro-actively dentify and develop new customers and new markets.
Manage and control sales expense.
Routinely create and manage forecasts, customer draw reports, sales plans, and other internal reporting requirements.
Develop and implements a customer strategy plan for each major customer in the territory including but not limited to pricing Strategy, contracts and growth including new products.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BSc preferably in a Technical discipline such as Food Science or Management, Marketing, Sales, Nutrition or related field.
Ideally 5-7 years of successful B2B sales experience in the food ingredient industry.
Prior experience managing sales on a regional level is advantageous.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the food ingredient industry and have the ability to manage significant business opportunities to grow the company’s position as the leader in its field.
Must have the ability to work both autonomously as well as with a team.
