Job Responsibilities:
Some of the critical areas for focused training will include Marketing Planning, Product Innovation, Pricing Strategy, Promotional Strategies, Marketing Communications, Brand Strategy, and Digital Marketing. Other responsibilities will include developing strategic plans to address the required critical skill gaps, building training modules & facilitating workshops, establishing assessments to measure performance, assisting in the hiring and retention of marketers, etc. A successful candidate will also provide short-term strategic direction for operating plans.
Consult with regional and local subsidiary leadership teams to identify priority training areas for competency improvements, then set and execute plans to address needs.
Identify islands of Marketing excellence within 3M globally for visits and exchanges to accelerate knowledge transfer and to help marketers gain experience quickly.
Establish a network of Best in Class Organizations for Customer Insights and to provide marketers the opportunity for direct interactions to obtain ‘Outside in perspective’. Coach on the art and tools to gain Customer Insights.
Coach/prepare the marketers in the Global Marketing Excellence Awards nominations to structure/ position/present.
May have direct responsibility or work with functional leader for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments in the immediate organization.
Problem solving requires hypothetical thinking to determine best solutions for complex problems. Utilizes resources across work areas and departments to create solutions. Most complex problem solving may require in-depth interpretation and analysis for significantly different situations.
Job Requirements:
A Bachelor level university/college degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
A minimum of 10 years of work experience with at least 7 years of relevant marketing experience is required
Requires excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
Preference will be given to those with 3 or more years of training experience; however, candidates with the demonstrated ability to train/coach will also be considered
Demonstrated self-starter, ability to work under limited supervision and coordinate multiple projects in a detail oriented environment
Strong business acumen
50-70% of business travel time is required for this role
