THE DEPARTMENT

This opportunity sits within the International Wealth Management Asia Operations team based in Singapore. The Operations department culture is dynamic, fast paced, and growing. The Operations department sits directly with the IWM business unit and is directly connected into the entire IWM organization, therefore giving significant visibility for the Operations staff and constant opportunities to directly interaction face to face with our internal stakeholders.

Trade Support opportunity:

This candidate will be part of the International Wealth Management Operations team and will be responsible for supporting the Equity, Fixed Income, Equity Derivatives and Alternative Investment trade flows executed by the International Wealth Management business unit in Hong Kong and Singapore. The investment product range the team deals with is diverse and therefore provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain exposure to a variety of products and knowledge.

The role entails trade processing and support, and control functions, for example performing trading / depot account reconciliation. The candidate will need to liaise with the front office business units, outside counterparties and global operations staff within the Firm to resolve queries and day to day issues. The candidate will be expected to analyze and improve processes, identify and manage risk and potentially guide junior members of the team. As such communication and organizational skills as well as attention to detail and a readiness to escalate issues with a sense of urgency are of upmost importance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Skills Required:

The ideal candidate should have:-

3-5 years’ experience in the financial services sector preferably in a middle office/trade booking and settlement role. Other relevant experience in a banking operations role (focused on banking products such as loans and deposits) would be an added advantage. Candidates with more than 3 years’ experience will also be considered assuming the background is relevant.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Superb attention to detail, accuracy & quality.

Strong time management and task prioritisation skills. Willing to work additional hours to ensure all deliverables are performed within required timescales.

Strong sense of urgency, accountability and ownership.

Focus on guardianship, ensuring that issues are identified, escalated, resolved and reported on a timely basis.

Passion, energy and enthusiasm. Is a self-starter who takes individual ownership for work quality and improvement. Leads by examples working with drive and determination.

Ability to work well under pressure and time criticality tasks, lending control and order to a difficult or pressurised situation.

Excellent inter-personal skills.

Diversified financial services product knowledge – particularly in Equity products.
