Equinix is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel, who will be primarily responsible for negotiating, drafting and managing commercial agreements.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Customer Contracts to ensure contracts protect Equinix. Negotiations may be with counterparts in the AP region, but will also include other jurisdictions such as the US and EMEA.
Being responsible for management of the full deal cycle
Analyzing customer requests for information, advising commercial leaders on how best to respond, and drafting responses to ensure quick, accurate, and comprehensive responses.
Providing legal advice and responding to queries relating to customer contracts, including prosecuting litigation and/or insurance claims if required. Advising on legal rights; working closely with and providing strategic guidance to the business, including senior management across the organisation.
Providing ancillary advice for Sales on various issues including early contract termination, novations, price increases, renewals, amendments, customer rights, and ensuring changes are properly documented.
Working with external counsel where required, conducting due diligence related to customer agreements in M&A transactions.
Conducting presentations, training and educating sales and commercial team members on legal review processes and procedures, legal documents, applicable laws and negotiation strategies.
Developing templates for customer transactions (e.g., new product offering, new policies).
Responsible for any other customer contract related issues as may arise
Functioning as part of the wider global legal team, including engaging with other departments, providing input on commercial issues, undertaking any global projects, initiatives, deals, corporate or other commercial transactions as may arise or be assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Law degree from a recognised university and about 3 to 5 years post qualification experience; with some experience in a law firm. Admitted to practice in Singapore or any commonwealth jurisdiction
Prepared to use technology including a contracts management system. Articulate, good drafting skills and highly effective in English. Being effective in a second language would be an advantage
Competent, accurate, resourceful, independent, organised, able to prioritise, an effective time manager and the ability to work in a team are important skills.
