We are seeking a senior process analyst to join the Singapore Centre of Emphasis, a new group inside Global Technology Services in Pfizer Global Supply. The Centre of Emphasis is being established to develop new manufacturing technology platforms and apply best process engineering practices to a range of opportunities in Pfizer manufacturing.
The successful candidate will take an active role in supporting technology development in the CoEm by applying a variety of analytical methodologies to support physical and chemical characterization of raw materials, process streams, intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Good knowledge of analytical techniques (HPLC, HPLC-MS, preparative HPLC, GC, GC-MS, spectroscopy (benchtop and at-line/in-line PAT) and relevant physical techniques (eg particle size) used for characterising materials is essential.
Lead the analytical activity in the CoEm by hands-on analytical work and utilizing the analytical resources available to the CoEm in the ICES facility by agreement. Identifying and developing the appropriate analytical methodology to be used to support the activity of the Process Engineers and Chemists. Ensuring such methodologies are robust and provide precise analytical data to the team. Complete pre validation checks on analytical methods where appropriate.
Interaction with the project team members including presentation of data, critical review of data, active involvement in solving technical challenges and preparation of technical reports. Investigation of new instrumentation or analytical techniques will be an integral part of the job.
Collaboration with analytical chemists across Pfizer and external to academia and institutes will be a requirement. Detailed interaction with equipment vendors will be important to support the hands-on trouble shooting of equipment and optimal vendor maintance programmes.
Proficiency with analytical software and knowledge management system will be important. Safe operation of the Analytical area will be essential.
Basic degree in Analytical Chemistry (1st or 2nd class honours) and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry
At least 4 years experience post PhD with either post doctorate research or laboratory based industry work or combination of both.
State of the art knowledge of modern analytical methodology including a wide range of chromatography and spectroscopy techniques. Familiarity with software and information systems (eg LIMS, Empower). A natural ability to solve complex analytical problems and instrumentation malfunctions. Ability to analyse complex data sets to extract valuable data. Ability to learn new techniques and transfer analytical knowledge to chemists and process engineers. Attention to detail, ability to multitask and good oral and written communications is essential. Team interaction is critical and the colleague must be able to collaborate and mentor peers in a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
