From our humble beginnings as the Care Liaison Service within the Ministry of Health and subsequently the Integrated Care Services established by the National Healthcare Group and Singapore Health Services, the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) was restructured in 2009 as an independent corporate entity to take on expanded functions as a “national care integrator”. AIC has inherited a rich legacy from its predecessors and dedicated officers to smoothen the flow of care for our patients. Throughout our growth, AIC has and will remain steadfast in its primary mission of putting the patient first.
There has never been a more exciting time for healthcare in Singapore and for AIC, as we work towards meeting the growing healthcare needs of our ageing population. AIC will continue to be the primary body to advise and guide patients and their families on the use of appropriate healthcare services, and to help you better navigate the healthcare system. We will coordinate, manage and monitor patient referrals to a greater range of Intermediate and Long Term Care services. AIC will play an active role to support the growth and development of the Primary Care and Intermediate and Long-term Care (ILTC) sectors, as critical partners in our healthcare system.
Putting our clients first means that the AIC is committed to work with each and every partner in the healthcare continuum, and provide necessary resources to help meet the needs of our clients. Whether you are a medical professional with an interest in ageing issues, a healthcare institution partner seeking to link up with others, a caregiver or a client of AIC’s services, we welcome your views and want to learn from you on how to improve the overall healthcare system to make it cost-effective, seamless and integrated.
