Carlsberg Singapore Pte Ltd

The Carlsberg Foundation was set up in 1876 by the founder of Carlsberg, brewer and Captain JC Jacobsen. The majority of the shares in Carlsberg A/S are held by the foundation. It consists of and supports financially the Departments A-D below and The New Carlsberg Foundation in accordance with the rules stated in the Charter and its Statutes.

Carlsberg has been imported into Singapore since the early 20th century. Initially it came all the way from Denmark, but today most of the beer sold by Carlsberg Singapore is sourced from a few Asian countries including Malaysia and China.

A subsidiary of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad, Carlsberg Singapore has succeeded in growing its market share from around 10% in the 1990s to more than 20% of the total beer & stout market volume today.
